Berks County TRAUMA Summit 2019

  • BCIU Main Office 1111 Commons Boulevard Reading, PA, 19605 United States (map)

The two-day Trauma Summit held September 5 & 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. includes training on trauma and trauma-informed care, and other discussions between community partners to address trauma.

Research shows that 67% of the population has experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience. These trauma-based adversities are predictive of a multitude of toxic physical, mental, and social outcomes throughout a person’s lifetime. As a society and as individuals, we need to be better informed and prepared to prevent and address the traumatic impact of childhood adversities.

Choices of breakout sessions will be available each day in the morning and the afternoon. Please be sure to review the descriptions and choices of the breakout sessions below to sign-up for your sessions.

The summit will be held at the Berks County Intermediate Unit main office at 1111 Commons Boulevard, Reading, 19605.

This summit is sponsored by the 2017 PA Hurricane Supplemental Emergency Response Grant (SERG) in collaboration with the PA Attorney General's Office, Lakeside Global Institute, Berks County Mental Health / Developmental Disabilities Program, and the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
