FULL TIME SALARY for 2023:

Probationary Officer $76,680.24

2nd Year Officer $86,246.16

Full Rate Officer $95,833.92

JOB DESCRIPTION:  This position involves protecting the public and preserving the peace. As a Police Officer, you need to interpret and enforce all applicable federal, state and local laws, general orders, directives, and policies and procedures of the Police Department. The Police Officer must be able to work independently under limited supervision. Officers work a set shift (bided on by seniority) that will include weekends and holidays. Applicants must have successfully passed the Municipal Police Officers’ Education & Training Commission (MPOETC) certification and obtained his ACT 120 certification number.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a legal citizen of the United States.  Must be 21 years or older.   Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.   Possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.  Possess a Social Security Card.  If previously a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, service and discharge must be honorable or under honorable conditions.  Be of good moral character, having no felony convictions; no misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury, or false statement.
